What Are the Basic Components of a Lithium-Ion Battery?

A lithium-ion battery is mainly composed of the following parts:
1. Cathode material: Typically made of lithium transition metal oxides, such as LiCoO2 and NMC, which are responsible for providing lithium ions.
2. Anode material: Generally made of graphite or other carbon materials, which are responsible for storing and releasing lithium ions.
3. Electrolyte: Usually an organic solution of lithium salts, which is responsible for conducting lithium ions between the cathode and anode.
4. Separator: A porous membrane placed between the cathode and anode to prevent short circuits while allowing lithium ions to pass through.
5. Case: Typically made of metal or plastic materials, used to enclose the internal components of the battery.
